About the Creator:
Kościół katolicki w Gross Engelau został wzniesiony w okresie krzyżackim. Po sekularyzacji Państwa Krzyżackiego w 1525 r. powstała tu parafia ewangelicka na miejscu katolickiej. W XVIII w. parafia podlegała kościelnej inspekcji w Welawie. W 1912 r. liczyła 2010 wiernych, a na jej terenie działało 5 szkół.
