About the Creator:
Urzędy stanu cywilnego w Prusach utworzono z dniem 1 października 1874 r. Terenem działania urzędów w przypadku gminy miejskiej był obszar danego miasta, a w przypadku gmin wiejskich teren jednej, dwóch lub kilku gmin. Funkcję urzędnika stanu cywilnego (na ogół) sprawował burmistrz. Urzędy uległy likwidacji w styczniu 1945 roku.
